I've been with PowWeb for more than 4 years now. I have two web sites and a forum hosted with them. during this time I have seen my web sites disappear and my mail access cut off many times with no explanation at all. They do not announce outages. Usually these only last for a few hours. But I once had this really unpleasant experience, when it has been nearly 24 hours with no web sites or forum, and no e-mail. Outages happen too often with this hosting provider, but that final outage was the last straw. I’ve changed my webhost. Powweb has the most clueless tech support I ever dealt with. You submit a trouble ticket, or initiate a chat session to ask for a professional help, and what you get is a person responding is absolutely clueless about any technical aspects of the system. I had a ticket going for few weeks and they never fixed the issue, they didn't tell when the problem might be fixed, and after awhile, they just stopped responding or updating the trouble ticket. I think it’s totally unprofessional approach for a web hosting company that is on top of the ratings. I’ve been using their shared hosting for 3 years. I’m now in the process of moving my websites to another posting provider. They used to be a great web host but after they were taken over by Endurance it's just been downhill. Support became horrible. But the worst thing is speed. It’s way too slow. The site timing out all the time, even Powweb's site disappearing all at once or taking a long time to load. Not a single problem have been solved. Over the past year,I've seen my traffic decrease. I would highly recommend Powweb to everyone. I have nothing but good to say about them. Their uptime is great. I had only one downtime for about an hour. I know things like this happen with every webhost, and that outage wasn’t too critical for me. I once screwed something up, emailed the support team and asked for help. They fixed the problem in no time. All I can say is that I am going to stay with my dedicatid hosting at PowWeb for a long time.
